On a medieval town tour
We take a trip through the provinces to discover the authentic Puglia and its stunning and surprising nature. While we follow the extensive seacoast, we drive through the olive groves. Did you know that there are more than 60 million olive trees growing in this part of Italy? On our Puglia tour once in a while we make a stop in the medieval towns such as Lecce, a greek and roman colony with its Baroque stonework in Italy, Alberobello, the UNESCO World Heritage Site with its famous Trulli, Ostuni, also known as the “White City” for the white houses of its historical center, Otranto, but also Martina Franca, Cisternino, Locorotondo, Grecìa Salentina and so on…
One of the ‘must-do’s’ while in Italy, is enjoying the incredible gastronomy, local specialities and discovering authentic, family recipes. Lucky us! Puglia offers a healthy and genuine local cuisine, mainly based on vegetables, homemade pastas, seafood, olive oil and Italy’s best bread like focaccia and pucce. While we take time to enjoy the region’s finest restaurants and taste the famous wines, we find out that Puglia is also a perfect place for doing yoga or take a horseback riding tour around.
We end our Puglia journey in Salento, a magical place located in the centre of the Mediterranean that fascinates with its landscape, colors and flavors. Salento is the land of Baroque architecture, the Pizzica dance, stunning beaches and white washed walls villages. Hope we will meet again soon, Puglia.
